John W. Swatosh
John Swatosh was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. He attended Denby High School (1963-1965) and Michigan State University (1965-1970), graduating with a B.A. degree in Mass Communications. He joined the US Army in January of 1971 and was trained as a Counter Intelligence Agent. His service included one year in Vietnam (October 1971- September 1972) and One year at the US Army Intelligence Command Headquarters in Fort Holabird, Maryland.
After the US Army, John had a successful 30-year career in business as a marketing executive for various medical device manufacturers. He specialized in global sales and distribution. In a career change, John returned to the Detroit area in 2004 and worked on several projects including public transportation. He retired from the Suburban Mobility Area Regional Transit (SMART) authority in 2014 and now resides in Chesterfield Township, Michigan.
